A simple speeding violation then turned into a wild courtroom argument, because the driver decided to dispute the law enforcement officer's use of a laser speed gun. The driver claimed to have not exceeded the speed limit. She also contended that there were other vehicles nearby and that the device might have recorded another vehicle instead of hers. The officer called to testify stated that he had been certified to operate the laser gun and had tested the device before using it.
