I've been helping people move better for more than 15 years. The whole reason I started was to fix my own issues that started after an intense increase in playing. But after years of attempting to fix the issues through biomechanics and exercise, I was still stuck. The reason is that posture isn't just a position, it's a prediction. By using biomechanics, movement, and task-specific motor learning, I've been able to teach my brain to make new predictions around how I should move in space. The result has been better posture and less movement restrictions. The bad news is that stretching and strengthening alone won't fix posture. The good news is that progressing towards the performance-oriented movement tasks that you value will!! The solution lies in progressing towards performance while integrating a better sense of how your body moves in a 3-D space. Sometimes this means a better cue for a squat. Other times it means asking deeper questions about identity and style. If you need help with this process, apply to work with us 1-on-1.
