Ste and Leah are worried when they discover Lucas' bed hasn't been slept in, until James says that he called him to say he was staying at a friend's overnight. He lets Lucas out of the shed, saying he hopes he's learned his lesson but also warns him against telling Ste the truth. Lucas lies and says he was staying at a friend's, but he's clearly upset and scared. James is satisfied that his punishment has worked and that Lucas won't be causing any more trouble between him and Ste. However, he does show guilt later when Ste rewards him for being such a good step-dad to Lucas...
