Put a North Arrow On That Map?
Can a map be a map if it doesn't have a north arrow? Well yeah, of course. A north arrow is an optional map accompaniment and you should think critically about your map and determine for yourself if it needs a north arrow. For what it's worth, sometimes a map actually should NOT have a north arrow. I'll go into three considerations for a map's north-arrow-worthiness.
