I visited Kabul Restaurant on Cheetham Hill Road, Manchester, a popular spot for authentic Afghan cuisine. Kabul Restaurant is well known in the local community for bringing the traditional flavours of Afghanistan to Manchester with fresh ingredients and classic recipes. During my visit, I tried their famous Kabuli Pulao, which is one of Afghanistan’s most iconic dishes. The rice was fragrant, perfectly cooked, and topped with tender meat, sweet carrots, and raisins – a true representation of traditional Afghan cooking. I also enjoyed their Qawa (Afghan green tea), which is light, refreshing, and commonly served after meals in Afghan culture. For dessert, I tried Sheer Yakh, the traditional Afghan ice cream, which was creamy and delicately flavoured, along with Afghan Falooda (Zhala) – a refreshing dessert made with vermicelli, syrup, and milk. Both desserts were fresh and very well prepared. I also had the chance to interview the restaurant owner, who shared insights about Afghan food, culture, and the inspiration behind Kabul Restaurant. Additionally, I spoke with customers dining at the restaurant, who shared their honest feedback and experiences. Overall, the food quality, taste, and atmosphere made this a great dining experience.
