The organizing committee was made up of Haleh Abghari, senior instructor in the music program; Eugenia Olesnicky, professor of biology; and Dmytro Bozhko, assistant professor of physics. The concert raised over $19,000. Proceeds from the concert were donated to the UN Refugee Agency and Razom, which provides medical aid to Ukraine, and to the UCCS Displaced Scholars Support Fund: https://uccs.edu/displacedscholars The UCCS Displaced Scholars Support Fund was the brainchild of Professor Dmytro Bozhko. Together with Professor Roger Martinez and Professor Eugenia Olesnicky, they worked with the UCCS administration to establish this fund. This concert marked the launch of this new initiative. The Fund will provide support and/or stipends for visiting scholars who are teaching, lecturing, or researching at or with UCCS and are displaced by natural disasters, political disruption, or other events causing displacement.
