Epic Azerbaijan Road Trip - Baku to Sheki via Gabala & Shamakhi! Welcome to part 2 of our amazing Baku, Samakhi, Gabala and Sheki overnight adventure! As you saw in my last video, I showed you how to reach Gabala, some amazing spots to explore in Samakhi, and of course, the thrilling cable car ride at the luxurious Tufandag Mountain Resort. Now, let’s continue our journey as we explore more hidden gems of Azerbaijan! In this video, we experience the beauty of Nohur Lake – a tranquil and picturesque destination just 20 minutes away from Tufandag Mountain Resort. Surrounded by lush forests and towering mountains, the lake’s crystal-clear turquoise waters offer a perfect escape for nature lovers. You can relax by the lakeshore or enjoy a peaceful boat ride, followed by a delicious meal at a nearby restaurant. Next, we wanted to visit the Yeddi Gozel Waterfall, famous for its seven stunning waterfalls. Unfortunately, it was closed, so we made our way to the charming city of Sheki! Sheki City is a beautiful blend of natural beauty and rich culture. Its unique architecture with intricate facades and elegant arches creates a visual feast for anyone who visits. Walk through its streets and experience a city unlike any other in Azerbaijan! We start our Sheki exploration with the Kish Albanian Church – one of the oldest surviving Christian churches in the region. Built in the 1st century AD, this church stands as a symbol of religious tolerance and the early adoption of Christianity in the Caucasus. Next, we head to the stunning Sheki Khan Palace – an architectural masterpiece that blends Persian, Ottoman, and Azerbaijani styles. Don’t miss its remarkable stained-glass windows crafted using the ancient Azerbaijani technique of Shebeke. We also visit the Caravansarai and market, an iconic example of Azerbaijani architecture, where traders and pilgrims used to rest during their long journeys. Explore the cultural exhibits and local crafts before heading to our final stop. While strolling through Sheki, we stumbled upon a beautiful palace-like restaurant called VIP Karavan Restaurant, where we had a delicious Azerbaijani dinner for just 24 manat.
