Gabriele Glang _Large-scale Washi Pulp Painting @ Awagami 2025 Visiting Artist Programme
Awagami Factory welcomed Gabriele Glang from Germany to the mill as a visiting artist in October, 2025. During the residency, with Awagami master papermakers' support, Gabriele created a variety of colourful large-scale pulp paintings. With her papermaking skill and confidence steadily improving during her stay, she achieved some impressive artistic results. In an ongoing effort to push the boundaries of Japanese washi paper, Awagami Factory collaborates with contemporary artists, designers, photographers and architects around the world. The mill is also open to the public Tues.-Sun. where visitors can also try their hand at washi papermaking.
