Butter sculpture is one of the most unique art forms of Tibetan arts. Many of the distinctive ways that Tibetans pray are also remnants of the ancient Bon religion, including kora (circumambulating or worshipping holy mountains or lakes), hanging multicolored prayer flags, scattering wind horse flags (Longda), engravening Buddhist texts on stones, creating mani piles, divination, worshiping the Dolma plate, butter sculpture, etc. These characteristics are now inextricably linked to Tibetan culture.
