An element that inspired the designers to define the shapes of the Z9 GT is silk, a material that rests lightly on the shapes and in a fluid, elegant way. This is the basic idea that guided the definition of the external lines, also choosing to have both the front and rear a subdivision of the lights into two elements, and a lateral signature that starts from the camera behind the front wheel and continues along the entire side. The design team also created the new Denza brand logo, which unlike BYD does not use the brand letters but relies on a stylised symbol. The interior of the Denza Z9 GT also embraces the idea of ​​softness and sinuosity that is associated with silk, both in terms of the enveloping shape of the dashboard, which continues on the door panels, and the shape of the seats, equipped with heating, ventilation and massage. The search for luxury for the interior environment has passed through fine upholstery materials such as leather or aluminium, the presence of OLED screens and the performance of the Dynaudio sound system. With refined details, such as the 4-litre refrigerator under the front central armrest and the 10-litre refrigerator between the rear seats. To complete it all, there is the large amount of space available for passengers, which has been privileged over that for luggage: the capacity of less than 500 liters, in fact, is less than what you would expect from the cargo area of ​​a car of this size. The plug-in hybrid engine of the Denza Z9 GT that I tried in this first test drive should arrive in 2026, in February. The fully electric version is expected for the end of 2025 with 965 HP, a 0-100 km covered in 3.4 seconds and a battery that should be 100 kWh, for a range of 630 km in the CLTC cycle (about 560 km WLTP) and 270 kW of DC charging power.
