The Forgotten Steam Locomotives: Workhorses of the Industrial Revolution

The Monticello Railway Museum has an impressive collection of steam power, but there's something missing - the personal history of some of their locomotives, including Western Indiana Aggregate Company #1 and Republic Steel Corporation's #191. Both steam locomotives have pulled trains at the museum, and they both have a great history at the museum, but almost no history before that. Eventually, I realized that their first careers, as serious workhorses of industry, weren't glamorous enough to make the history books, but were still absolutely critical.
