EastEnders: Arthur Fowler is Arrested for Stealing the Christmas Club Money and Confesses (1986)

Arthur got himself into a serious mess when he stole the Christmas Club money to pay for Michelle;'s wedding. He then decided to dig an even deeper hole for himself by faking a robbery at the house to make out that the money was stolen by burglars but Detective Sergeant West isn't buying it and eventually gets a confession. At first he can't or won't see that his goose is cooked but when he eventually begins to realise the tension is palpable. Bill Treacher is incredible in these scenes as the walls close in on Arthur and he begins to panic.
