She used to go and sing songs to Gurudev in the morning and evening. Gurudev was particularly fond of her songs. He used to wait for her to arrive and he would place his list of demands as soon as she arrived. Amita continued singing songs of his choice one after another. One day he wished to listen to the song 'Aami tomar songe ...'. He smiled at Khuku after she had finished – 'Well, do you remember anything with this song?' She laughed loudly. It was her habit to express with giggles. Rabindranath had said that day – 'I had composed this song with her in my mind.' People who were present that day had asked Amita at a later time – 'How could you suppress this invaluable accomplishment of divine intervention within yourself? We would have proclaimed it volubly all over.' She had explained her feelings to them – 'Don't I understand the profound meaning of the song although Gurudev had made a point? Do you think this overwhelming realisation can take such a diminutive shape? The supreme direction which his expressions follow is clear and the depth of his thoughts profound, my connection to this song happens to be merely a coincidence.' ...
