This is what your first day in Alaska should look like!

We’ve arrived in Anchorage, Alaska — and this is state number 44 on our journey to all 50! 🇺🇸 In this Anchorage Alaska travel vlog, we share our first impressions of Alaska as we explore downtown Anchorage, check into our hotel, experience our first salmon run, and discover some truly local gems. If you’re planning a trip to Alaska or wondering what Anchorage is really like, this is the perfect place to start. We begin by heading from the airport to the Anchorage Marriott Downtown, our home base while exploring Anchorage. We’ll take a look at the hotel, walk through the lobby, and show you our room before heading out to explore the city. After a full day of sightseeing, we make our way to 49th State Brewing, where we enjoy craft beer, freshly sourced Alaskan food, and incredible rooftop views overlooking Cook Inlet and the Alaska Range. This spot truly captures the spirit of Alaska with bold flavors, local brews, and unforgettable scenery. We also explore downtown Anchorage on foot and stumble upon one of our favorite discoveries of the trip — Kobuk, a family-owned shop that has been part of Anchorage since 1915. From handcrafted Alaskan gifts to their famous Samovar tea, this stop was pure magic. We wrap up the day at Ship Creek Overlook, where we witness our first-ever salmon run, an unforgettable Alaska experience and the perfect way to end our first day in the Last Frontier. Anchorage was an incredible introduction to Alaska and the perfect start to our adventure.
