WALKING in a DUTCH CITY: Nijmegen

Let's take a walk in the dutch city of Nijmegen, located in the province of Gelderland, situated in the central east of the Netherlands, close to the border with Germany, and largely located on the southern bank of the Waal River. Nijmegen has a long history dating back more than 2,000 years. This makes Nijmegen one of four cities that, based on their recorded history, claim the title of "oldest city in the Netherlands." Despite the city being partially destroyed by bombing during World War II, several buildings and structures have been preserved that tell the city's long history.
