Trains at: Liverpool Lime Street, WCML, 07/12/15

A very enjoyable afternoon spent at Liverpool Lime Street which is an eastern terminus on the West Coast Mainline where we see plenty of services from Virgin Trains, London Midland, Northern Rail, First Transpennine Express and East Midlands Trains. The station is fairly busy with trains constantly coming and going, the vast majority are usually Northern Rail 319 units working services to Preston, Liverpool South Parkway and Wigan North Western. It's certainly a station I'm going to be coming back to throughout the years as I really like the layout of the station, although it must be said I was expecting more platforms, I thought it would be similar to that of Manchester Piccadilly. The old station canopy really gives the station a nice sense of character about it. A lot of the services here were being delayed rather severely, especially the Virgin services and London Midland services mostly due to the poor weather conditions that we have been experiencing, most notably up at Carlisle where not only the city was flooded but also sections of the West Coast Mainline where the line was submerged under 8 feet of water. Should you think about filming here then I highly recommend filming from where I was standing during the duration of this film which was at the top end of platform 7. I was supposed to be filming at Stourbridge Junction and Five ways but unfortunately I was taken ill so I was unable to speak. So both of these stations will be filmed at next week. My next station is Liverpool South Parkway.
