2026 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Facelift PHEV Launched At 2.20 Crore -Explained All Spec, Features & More

Mercedes-Benz has launched the updated version of its flagship sedan, the S-Class, in India, at prices starting at Rs 2.20 crore (ex-showroom). Bookings are now open, and deliveries will begin in Q4 2026. The S-Class facelift is available with a plug-in hybrid powertrain. It uses a 3.0-litre, 6-cylinder turbo-petrol engine paired with an electric motor and a 22 kWh battery pack. It produces 429 BHP and 680 Nm, which is sent to the rear wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. Mercedes claims the new S-Class can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. The 22 kWh battery gives it an electric-only range of 115 km. The car is said to deliver an overall mileage of 32.3 km/l (WLTP cycle). On the exterior, the new S-Class features a brand-new front fascia, housing an illuminated grille with a gloss black surround. It is flanked by a set of LED headlamps that have a new design with star-shaped DRLs. The rear features sleek wraparound taillamp units with three star-shaped LEDs. Inside, the new S-Class has the Superscreen, which houses a 14.4-inch central touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, and an additional 12.3-inch display for the front passenger. These run on Mercedes’ latest MB OS platform.
