We've covered everything we've got in one day, and we're sharing our itinerary with you. 🔥 WHAT YOU'LL SEE AND LEARN: • BAUMAN STREET is the main pedestrian thoroughfare, known as the "Kazan Arbat." It's about 2 km long and features numerous monuments (to the Kazan Cat, Chaliapin, and the "Dove" statue), carriages, sculptures, and cozy cafes. There's also an observation deck on the bell tower of the Epiphany Cathedral (74 meters high). • THE KAZAN KREMLIN is the heart of the city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the only active Tatar fortress in the world. Admission to the grounds is free (24 hours a day), with only museums being subject to entry fees. • KUL-SHARIF MOSQUE — the main mosque of Tatarstan, a symbol of spiritual rebirth. Built in 2005 for the millennium of Kazan. Admission to the mosque is free. • PREOBRAZHENSKAYA TOWER (observation deck) — one of the most powerful towers of the Kremlin. It offers views of Kul-Sharif and the historical part of the Kremlin. Tickets cost 80 rubles. • "CHASHA" (KAZAN WEDDING PALACE) — the republic's main registry office, opened on July 5, 2013. We arrived specifically for sunset—the building, shaped like a giant cauldron, is beautifully illuminated, especially at dusk.
