The 2018-2019 graduation ceremony for our university's Faculty of Education was held with the participation of Governor Salih Ayhan and Rector Prof. Dr. Alim Yıldız. The ceremony, held in the Keykavus Hall of our university's 4 Eylül Cultural Center, was attended by Governor Prof. Dr. Salih Ayhan, Rector Prof. Dr. Alim Yıldız, Dean of the Faculty of Education Prof. Dr. Ali Aksu, our Deans, Secretary General Prof. Dr. Hakan Yekbaş, Rector's Advisors, academics, families, and students. The program began with a moment of silence and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by the graduating students' arrival on stage. Following the students' arrival, speeches began. Gamze Türkel, the valedictorian of the faculty and a student in the Department of Psychological Counseling and Guidance, was the first to take the podium. "Although my friends and I, as recent graduates, feel like we're at the end of our journey, we're actually at the very beginning of our lives. The moment we receive our diplomas, we become teachers. Let's work to contribute to the education system and benefit the next generation. Let's realize the sacredness of this profession. Let's do our jobs with love," she said. Our Rector, Prof. Dr. In his speech, Alim Yıldız emphasized that the Faculty of Education is one of the faculties that draws the highest quality students and offers master's and doctoral programs. He said, “It is a faculty that continues to develop. Today is, of course, an important day for our students. Many of our departments are here today. They will be celebrating their graduations. First and foremost, I congratulate our students. I congratulate our parents. Because they sent them to us, entrusted them to us. We are returning them to them as qualified and well-equipped teachers. I wish them success, and I know they will be successful. We ask our students this: Never forget that you graduated from Sivas Cumhuriyet University and be proud of your graduation. And say this everywhere. We would be even more pleased if you could. You will have a diploma from Sivas Cumhuriyet University, a university with a 44-year history behind you. May it be auspicious and auspicious.” Following the Rector's address, Governor Ayhan reminded everyone that 2019 was the 100th anniversary of the Sivas Congress and expressed his hope that the students graduating this year would become voluntary ambassadors for Sivas. Governor Ayhan continued his speech, saying, “Sivas Cumhuriyet University holds a significant place. The Faculty of Education has been one of the most successful faculties since its inception. I congratulate our Rector and Dean. The center of change and transformation in Turkey will be the Ministry of National Education and its teachers, its key actors. I urge you to educate your students with the same understanding, respecting their values, without forgetting the spirit of the times and our past heritage. I particularly want you to be among the staff who manage this process. I believe this university has contributed greatly to you. With its visual appeal, campus area, dedication, hard work, and physical spaces, Sivas Cumhuriyet University is truly in a very good position. What matters is the vibrant enthusiasm, the establishment of a dynamic structure, and the presence of sincere staff.” Following the speeches, Governor Ayhan presented diplomas to Gamze Türkel, the top student in the faculty, our Rector Prof. Dr. Yıldız, to Amine Güran, the second-placed student, and Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Ali Aksu, to Şevval İncebacak, the third-placed student. The program ended with the top student of the faculty hammering a nail into the graduation log and the students throwing their caps up.
