After the war, when he commanded the Soviet Union's tank forces, he was given the highest honorary title: "Tankman Number One." From childhood until his last breath, Marshal Babadzhanyan was distinguished by his exceptional work ethic and courage. More than once, his integrity and willpower led him through great trials, including courts-martial. Several times, he narrowly escaped execution, only to prove his innocence again with his bravery on the battlefield.
