Haemanthus. Coccines great plant to have in your collection..

This is my Haemanthus. Coccineus. from Sth Africa I have had this plant for 18 yrs and was given 12 more bulbs 6 years ago. Since then my Haemanthus Coccineus collection has grow in number. Over the last 6 years as I have propagated the seeds and now I have well over 200 bulbs, ranging from 1yr to 6ys old. They are an easy plant the propagate from seed, but they do throw offset off the mother plant, but it has to be a mature plant for it to offset. Looks great in a pot when it has it's flowers and foliage, but looks a bit sad when dormant :( . If you live in a climate that has prolong freezing temperatures, it would be best to bring the plant indoors as it can cope with shade as in it's natural habitat it is found under shrubs.
