姫路市の魚吹八幡神社で開催された秋季例大祭宵宮のちょうちん祭り、練りの様子です。本来は練り歩くものだったようですが時代の流れとともに盛り上げる方向にシフトしているようですね。 一方で数年ぶりの開催ということで開催地域は相当気合を入れていたなんて声も周囲からは聞こえていました。 This is one of the autumn festivals held at shrines in Japan. This is the Uofuki-Hachiman Shrine in Himeji City, Hyogo Prefecture. At this shrine, a lantern parade is held as part of the festival. It is said that it originally started on the first day of the festival, when the enshrined god was moved in a portable shrine, with lanterns lighting his feet as he walked. Over the years, however, as the culture developed, people began to compete with each other to see how they could make the festival more interesting and exciting with the use of lanterns.
