Diálogos FAES. Entrevista a Stanley Payne, autor de Alcalá-Zamora, por Manuel Álvarez Tardío

On the occasion of the publication of "Niceto Alcalá Zamora. The Failure of the Conservative Republic," Stanley G. Payne, Hispanist and Professor of History at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, speaks with Manuel Álvarez Tardío, historian and director of the Political Biographies Collection "Gota a Gota." Introducing the FAES Foundation's new book, the American professor reviews the historical circumstances and vicissitudes of the Cordoban politician and his era, both during the final period of the monarchy of Alfonso XIII, which he helped to overthrow, and during the years of a Republic he presided over until April 1936. Furthermore, Payne and Tardío address current readings of the political figure and the real memory of a historical period that today, from certain academic and political circles, some are trying to reconstruct.
