Text: Genesis 41:50-57 50 Before the famine began, Joseph had two sons, born of Asenath, the daughter of Potiphera, the priest of On. 51 Joseph named his firstborn Manasseh, saying, "God has made me forget all my affliction and all the affairs of my father’s house." 52 He named his secondborn Ephraim, saying, "God has made me fruitful in the land of my affliction." 53 The seven years of abundance in the land of Egypt came to an end. 54 As Joseph had said, the seven years of famine began. There was famine in every country, but there was food in all the land of Egypt. 55 The land of Egypt was starving, and the people cried out to Pharaoh for food.
