Hey! In my latest film, I decided to explore the absurd situations that arose in the Soviet Union. I focused primarily on economic themes, though not exclusively. In the USSR, everything had to revolve around the plan and its assumptions. The centrally controlled economy led to many grotesque scenes and decisions. Producers often didn't care about modernizing their factories because what mattered most was that everything "matched" on paper and with orders coming from Moscow. Secrecy also reigned supreme in the vast Soviet empire. Factories with "top secret" status were so well hidden that even their employees didn't always know exactly where they worked. Classified documents were only shared with a small circle of trusted dignitaries. Telling a joke could land you in prison or even be shot. What jokes particularly irritated the regime?
