Meet the Reagan behind Blue Grass contender Reagan's Honor
We catch up with trainer Cherie DeVaux and her step-daughter Reagan Ingordo after Reagan's Honor works a half-mile in 48 seconds in company for this Saturday's Toyota Blue Grass at Keeneland. Reagan's Honor is the latest horse named for Reagan - and they've all been good. Reagan's Honor was bred by Reagan's dad, David Ingordo, and the late Jerry Moss, who campaigned 2005 Kentucky Derby winner Giacomo (at 50-1 odds, and who is in Reagan's Honor's pedigree and was trained by David Ingordo's stepdad, John Shirreffs). Reagan's Honor -- owned by West Point Thoroughbreds, David Ingordo and "Spider" Duignan is 2 for 2, coming in off an impressive Fair Grounds allowance race on Feb. 19. It was a bittersweet day as the Ingordos and Devaux were in California for Shirreffs' funeral.
