2009 Dodge Journey - Replace Rear Disc Brake Rotor and Pads

I am not a certified mechanic and this video is just a reference. This is my first attempt in replacing rear disc brake rotors and pads on this vehicle at home for about $100. The 2009 Dodge Journey is known for its poor disc brake design, which causes premature wear on brake pads and rotors. Although not recommended, I have installed drilled and slotted rotors with ceramic brake pads to see how much more quickly the new set would wear out. I recommend bleeding the entire brake system before installing new pads and rotors to ensure better stopping performance and even pad wear. I am replacing the OEM rear brakes at 34,000 miles, which is less than average life span for normal driving conditions. The front brakes have already been replaced at 21,000 miles. Thanks for watching and any comments are appreciated. Update 9/19/2014 - Brake pads and rotors still have plenty of life left and rotor surface is shiny and smooth with no ridges at 54K miles!!! The best brake upgrade for this car for cheap!!!
