Close Encounters ║ Large Family Vlog │Summer Break Week 2

This week's summer break theme is "Devil's Tower Week." We have fun watching Close Encounters of the Third Kind with the kids. On the night of the full moon, we have a picnic at the tower and make paintings of the tower. We also get to listen to a story teller in the outdoor amphitheater before taking a moonlit walk around the tower. The walk was very pleasant and it was much easier to see in real-life than it appears on camera. We didn't get home until nearly 12:30 that night! To round out our Devils' Tower adventures, we made potato sculptures of the tower (in homage to Close Encounters) and we "take a trip" to the top of the tower via Oculus Rift virtual reality. This week was Moorcroft's annual Jubilee Days so we took the kids to the Jubilee parade and attended the community church service on Sunday morning. We begin doing a few short lessons this week in handwriting, spelling, math, reading and diction. We end the week with a picnic at the park with all of our library friends to mark the end of the library's summer reading program. www.andreamills.tv Mills Family P.O.
