The first major and most severe conflict of the Principate era from 84 to 106 is often divided into several separate wars following one another. In reality, the global upheaval, comparable in scale to the Marcomannic War of 166-180, is associated with deep political, economic and social processes in the Roman Empire. The Dacian Kingdom was at the same time the only developed non-Roman world in Europe. In the first issue, we will talk about the internal crises that preceded the beginning of the Dacian War, who the Dacians and the so-called "Dacian Kingdom" were and why the entire Roman policy of the Danube region was built around it, as well as the first episode of the war during the reign of Domitian.
