What Does a Purple Belt Level Promotion Mean at Alpha BJJ? In an art as big as BJJ, every belt level starts to mean something. At purple belt, and by extension, each stripe at purple, you are a serious practitioner of jiu jitsu and a representative of your school and instructor. At Alpha, we get questions from newer people about what each belt rank means. This talk, at Clint Blackburn's latest stripe at purple belt, sums up the upper ranks of BJJ as we see them.
