We had this 2013 Hyundai Verna visit one of our MotoFyx car repair workshop for a concern relating multiple metallic noises being observed from both the car’s steering and suspension. The car was tending to pull onto one specific side and the driving comfort only kept deteriorating overtime. In order to silence the noisy steering - suspension concern and in order to restore the car’s driving comfort the car owner reached out to us for immediate assistance. Upon a detailed inspection of the car by our expert technicians, during an initial road trial the car was observed to be pulling onto the right side along with clunking suspension noise being observed from the front suspension, further a grinding sound was being observed while turning the steering. Upon further diagnosis by dismantling the wheels and subframe, the front shock absorbers were observed to be weak with the shock absorber mounting having developed a major play leading to the clunking noise. The link rods were deformed in shape requiring immediate replacement. As for the steering noise, the rack had developed major play, which required immediate attention. *Function of steering rack: Steering rack is the main component which transfers the directional command from the steering wheel on to the wheels *Symptoms of weak steering rack: Car pulling to one side Steering wheel vibration Leaking steering fluid Grinding noise while steering *Can steering rack be repaired?
