🐝 The day has finally arrived! After a long wait for a swarm, I decided to buy a bee nucleus and begin a new chapter in my apiary. In this video, I'll show you the entire process of installing the nucleus in the hive, step by step – from opening the package to the first orientation flights of the worker bees. 📦 The nucleus arrived by courier after about 24 hours of travel. How did the bees behave after transport? Was the queen secured in her cage? What was the first contact with the new colony like? You'll learn all about it in this video. 🐝 In the video, you'll see, among other things: ✅ unpacking the bee nuc ✅ assessing the colony's condition after transport ✅ marking the queen bee ✅ moving the frames to the hive ✅ preparing the hive for the nuc ✅ the bees' first orientation visits ✅ administering sugar syrup ✅ my first impressions after installing the colony 🏡 The nuc was installed in a hive adapted to Ostrów frames using a special spacer ring. This allowed me to safely place the Wielkopolska frames and begin the gradual transition to the system I chose for my apiary. 🍯 This season, the most important thing is colony development. I don't plan to harvest honey from this nuc.
