46th Commencement Exercises of the Philippine National Police Academy ‘Sinaglawin’ Class of 2025

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. leads the 46th Commencement Exercises of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) for the 206 graduating cadets of the ‘Sinaglawin’ Class of 2025 at Camp General Mariano N. Castañeda in Silang, Cavite on April 29, 2025. With the theme ‘Kapulisan Na May Malasakit at Integridad, Sandigan ng Kaayusan ng Sambayanan,’ the Cadet Corps of the PNPA holds a Parade and Review to honor President Marcos Jr. and the Class. The class name, which comes from sinag (ray of light) and lawin (hawk), reflects the cadets’ mission to be watchful, brave and full of hope as future leaders in public safety. Among the graduates, Police Cadet Marc Joseph L. Vitto from Oriental Mindoro stands out as the top graduate and is named the class valedictorian. He receives the Presidential Kampilan Award, the Journalism Kampilan Award and the Plaque of Merit for graduating No. 1. The ‘Sinaglawin’ Class of 2025 makes history as the first batch to be fully commissioned as Police Lieutenants of the Philippine National Police (PNP), following the full implementation of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 11279. This Law places the PNPA directly under the PNP and ends the practice of assigning graduates to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) and the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
