They're story-driven and character-driven games that largely revolve around character interaction and decision-making, and while that means they're not super gameplay-intensive, they're still really engaging, with well-written and complex characters, a lovely art style, gorgeous lighting, wonderful music, and compelling stories. I first played the original game a few years back, and I've loved the series ever since, with the adventures of Max Caulfield, Chloe Price, and more pretty much taking up permanent residence in my brain. So, considering that, a couple months ago, Square Enix announced both a brand-new entry into the series (Life is Strange: True Colors) and remasters of Life is Strange 1 AND the prequel, Life is Strange: Before the Storm, I thought it'd be a good idea to make another entry into the "What If...?" series, where I select 5 of my favorite characters and give them 4 Pokemon apiece (because any more than that would lead to redundant/space-filling picks).
