When Parents Aren't Honorable
This teaching challenges us to reconsider what it truly means to honor our parents, especially when they have been less than honorable. Some of us have faced abuse, neglect, or deep wounds from our parents. Yet Scripture still calls us to honor—not the person necessarily, but it's about recognizing appointed positions and responding with integrity. We learn that honor means forgiving, setting boundaries, treating others with respect, and walking in the Holy Spirit rather than in our woundedness. The message reminds us that we won't stand before God to explain our parents' actions—only our own responses. Through Christ, we can break cycles of dysfunction and choose a path of healing that honors God while protecting our own well-being.
