Woodturning - The Imperfect Perfect Bowl

In this week’s woodturning video, Harry and I and the local community experienced a pretty crazy thunderstorm a few weeks back that had some very high winds. Later that day after the storms had passed Harry suggested we head out as good Samaritans and help cut up downed trees. I knew immediately Harry just wanted to go get some fresh snacks. As we drove around the neighborhood, we picked up some oak, magnolia, a large chunk of pine, and other various unknown woods. I decided to drive through a newer subdivision thinking they might have some interesting ornamental trees. As I was passing by houses I spotted a brush pile ahead…..the wood had a very bright orange color. I stopped and stepped out of the truck and Harry leaped into the pile. After Harry had a taste he knew it immediately was Bradford Pear! We decided to create a nice bowl from this amazing wood. We hope you enjoy the video! Got a woodturning question?
