This stretch of the coastline feels wild, open, and endlessly expansive, with sheer cliffs, crashing waves, and long grassy headlands guiding the way. It’s a walk shaped by wind, sea, and ancient paths worn smooth by centuries of travellers. 🕰️ Highlights, History & Local Lore Solva begins the walk with quiet charm — a deep natural harbour split into Upper and Lower Solva, once bustling with limestone, slate, and wool shipments. Today, fishing boats rest along the tidal banks while pastel cottages, galleries, and small cafés line the winding lanes. It feels gently alive, yet unhurried — a perfect gateway to the cliffs beyond. Leaving the harbour behind, the coastal path quickly rises, unfolding into dramatic headland scenery. The Pembrokeshire Coast Path here delivers near-constant sea views, with seabirds wheeling overhead and waves breaking far below against dark, folded rock.
