This is My commandment, that you love one another, as I have loved you. 13. Greater love has no one than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" (John 15:12, 13). "1. My little children, these things I write unto you, that ye may not sin: And if anyone sins, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2. He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world. 3. And by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4. Whoever says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5. But whoever keeps His word, in him truly is the love of God perfected. By this we know that we are in Him. 6. He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk, just as He walked. 7. Beloved, I write no new commandment to you, but the old commandment which you had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which you heard from the beginning. 8. “But I write you a new commandment, which is true both in Him and in you: because the darkness is passing away, and the true light is already shining. 9. He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is still in darkness. 10. He who loves his brother abides in the light, and in him there is no cause for stumbling. 11. But he who hates his brother is in darkness and walks in darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes” (1 John 2:1-11). “1. To the angel of the church in Ephesus write: These things says He who holds the seven stars in His right hand, He who walks in the midst of the seven golden lampstands: 2. I know your works, your labor, and your patience, and how you cannot bear evil men, and have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and have found them liars. 3. You have borne many things and have patience, and for My name's sake you have labored and have not grown weary. 4. But I have this against you, because you have left your first love. 5. Remember therefore from where you have fallen, and repent, and do the first works. Otherwise, I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you repent. 6. Nevertheless, you have this good, that you hate the deeds of the Nicolaitans, which I also hate. 7.
