Oroville Spillway April 5, 2017
Debris excavation below the spillways continues. As of April 5th, 1.44 million cubic yards of debris have been removed from the diversion channel and relocated to one of three spoil sites. Water rescue teams regularly patrol the waters as a safety precaution. Additional excavation is taking place on the hillside to help prevent erosion and debris deposits when the flood control spillway is utilized for releases during the remainder of the runoff season.
