On the occasion of the 3rd Conference on the Eastern Railway, which once ran from Berlin via Gorzów and Piła to Königsberg, we present the current status and prospects for the modernization of this railway route and the development of rail traffic along it. We report on the current status and prospects of the so-called Eastern Railway, the ancient Prussian Ostbahn, leading from Berlin via Gorzów and Piła to Königsberg in the past. The 3rd Ostbahn Conference, held on October 20, 2016 in Seelow, was held to assess the current situation and prospects for the route and railway transport on the Berlin-Gorzów-Piła route.
