Welcome to the Isle of Berk at EPIC Universe, an immersive land inspired by DreamWorks’ How to Train Your Dragon. The moment you step through the portal, you’re dropped right into a lively harbor village, surrounded by dramatic cliffs, colorful wooden houses, and even dragon footprints scattered throughout. The whole place feels alive! You’ve got cinematic music in the background, little hints of dragons everywhere… and yeah, sheep too. Very Viking-coded chaos. The theming here is honestly incredible, with carved wooden details, totems, and glowing lanterns lining the paths. It really feels like you’re walking through Berk alongside Hiccup, Astrid, Toothless, and the rest of the crew. The marketplace is packed with fun finds for dragon fans. Shops like Toothless Treasures and Hiccup’s Workshop are filled with plush dragons, Viking gear, cloaks, and even customizable shields. And the team members fully commit to the bit, staying in character and adding to the whole story of Berk. Food here is just as themed as everything else. You can grab a bite at places like Spit Fire Grill, Hooligan’s Grog & Gruel, or the Mead Hall, where they’re serving up hearty, rustic meals like roasted meats, savory pies, and fresh bread. It honestly feels like you’ve sat down in a Viking feast hall. As for attractions and shows, there’s a lot to do: • Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a family coaster where you soar through the skies like a dragon rider • Dragon Racer’s Rally lets you practice aerial tricks and barrel rolls • Fyre Drill is a water ride where you battle other boats and try to out-soak everyone • The Untrainable Dragon is a live stage show—and easily one of my favorites at Universal. It’s funny, emotional, and just really well done • Viking Training Camp is perfect for kids, with climbing areas, slides, and interactive play spaces You’ll also find character meet and greets throughout the land, but the highlight is meeting Toothless and Hiccup at the Haddock Paddock. It’s one of those must-do photo ops. And honestly, one of the best parts of Berk is how interactive it is.
