Nuevo Proyecto CALI - JAMUNDÍ: Ampliación Avenida Cañasgordas

The expansion of Avenida Cañasgordas is currently underway, with progress reported at 10% to 11% across its various work fronts. This project, which connects Cali with Jamundí, is one of the most critical infrastructure projects for improving mobility in southern Valle del Cauca. Key project details: Delivery date: The road is estimated to be fully operational by October 2027. Investment: The total cost amounts to COP 226 billion, financed entirely with public funds (without any special assessment tax). Scope of work: Construction of 6.1 kilometers of dual carriageway. Intervention from the bridge over the Pance River to the Alfaguara roundabout. Includes bike paths, pedestrian areas, modern lighting, and new bridges over the Pance and Jamundí rivers. Current status: As of January 2026, the Valle del Cauca Governorate reports six active work fronts, notably the bridge foundations and paving work. It is projected that once completed, travel times between the two municipalities will be reduced by up to 30 minutes.
