After a few casts, you'll get a feel for the summing time. And backlash after entering the water is so frequent that you'll just let it go and it'll be fine. The problem is that backlash occurs immediately after casting, which is a problem. I have an auxiliary spool ready and use it whenever I can. And when the wind is strong, I increase the jig weight and cast against the wind as much as possible. If you don't have a spare spool and the line is seriously tangled, reel it all in. Then, head to a calm, rocky shore and walk to the point of tangle, straightening the line (if you untangle it in one spot, it will tangle again there). Then, calmly work on untangling the tangle. The key is not to pull too hard on the tangled area, which will further tangle it. In 80% of cases, if you calmly pull back 10-20 cm of the line blocking it, then pull back on the main line, and repeat this process. Unfortunately, a knot can form. In this case, carefully remove the knot with a jighead needle to untangle it. Sometimes, the main line simply digs into the line. In this case, simply pull the main line a little harder. However, to be sure, you should check the area around the main line with your hand to see if it has been dug in. If a tangle occurs, you need to carefully determine whether it's: 1. a simple tangle, 2. a knot (need to be tense), 3. a digging in the main line, and then take appropriate action. Also, for night fishing, remember the underwater terrain well before sunset and apply it at night. Until eight years ago, I always carried and used an ultralight rod on the West Sea. However, light tackle is only beneficial in shallow waters. Shallow waters are difficult to catch decent rockfish in, except in autumn. Flatfish bite well in mid-water, so it doesn't matter. High-quality fishing spots are best spots for light tackle. Avoid such areas altogether and go to places where rockfish up to 30cm are likely to be caught, starting with a 3/8-ounce line. Depending on the water depth, I use a No. 1 braided line, a No. 1.5 in deeper waters, and even a No. 2 for larger fish. Snagging varies depending on the water level. Jighead weight is also important. Snagging becomes more severe when the tide is low and the water recedes significantly. In that case, you need to lighten the jighead. If you don't have a light one, cast it, drop it, scrape the bottom a little, let it float, and then retrieve it. Casting farther will also reduce snagging. The water below your feet is usually shallow and full of rocks, so snagging is a common occurrence. No matter how skilled you are, if you sink the jig and keep dragging, it will inevitably snag and be impossible to remove. And a rod with that balance has absolutely no pressure.
