The Feds Are Now Suing California to Bring Glocks Back

On July 1st, the Federal Department of Justice — through Assistant AG Harmeet Dhillon — filed a lawsuit against Gavin Newsom and California AG Rob Bonta challenging AB 1127 (the Glock ban) AND the California handgun roster. This is unprecedented federal intervention in California firearms law, and CRPA President Chuck Michel breaks down what it means. The complaint hits the Glock ban with the "common use" argument straight out of Heller — Glocks are the most popular handgun in America, and you can't ban weapons in common use. It also targets the roster's chamber load indicator, magazine disconnect mechanism, and microstamping requirements — the same provisions CRPA's Boland case knocked out at the federal district court level. The novel legal question: can the federal DOJ use its "pattern or practice" law (34 USC 12601) to enjoin California from enforcing a state law that hasn't yet been formally declared unconstitutional? The TRO was denied on that procedural question — but Chuck explains why that denial was NOT a merits loss. The preliminary injunction motion is coming next. Plus: how this connects to the Boland case CRPA won, why the James case was dismissed, why "common use" wins under Heller and Bruen, and what to watch for in the next few months. 👉 Support CRPA’s legal fight by becoming a member using the link below 👍 Like, 📤 share, and 🔔 subscribe to help defend the Second Amendment Become a CRPA member today: 👉 https://californiariflepistol.app.neo... 🛡️ Sponsors Join CCW Safe Today → https://ccwsafe.com/?utm_source=CRPA%...
