Affinity Photo Version 2: Luminosity Mask vs Blend Options/Ranges

Affinity Photo version 2 introduced the Luminosity Range Mask which allows you to select based on lightness/luminosity. To some extent this is already available in Blend Options (aka Blend Ranges). However there are important differences between these. Some functions can be done by either. Some are unique to using Blend Options while the Luminosity Range Mask provides a more flexible approach that can be used for situations where Blend Options doesn't work well.
