Connecting a SQL Azure PaaS Database to Virtual Network

Your organization's Azure assets may be split between IaaS resources on an Azure Virtual Network and Azure PaaS services, where IPs can be shared by multiple customers. This can introduce a need to plan for connecting the two areas of Azure resources securely. For instance, you may have an application server within your firewall-protected virtual network that needs to access a SQL Azure PaaS database. This can be problematic by default, as your security team has blocked outbound 1443 on the firewall as a data loss prevention strategy. This video from our lab environment shows how to securely make the connection between PaaS and IaaS, using Azure Private Link.
