Spain's high-speed rail network has opened a new section: the Madrid-Murcia AVE line. Following an inaugural trip by King Felipe VI, Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez, and the Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, Raquel Sánchez, the new route will begin commercial service on December 20. Until now, the high-speed rail service stopped 16 kilometers short of the city of Murcia, as explained to DatosRTVE by the Railway Infrastructure Administrator (Adif).
