The Record Player Interview with Alfie Zappacosta

"What’s It All About, Alfie? …” ok, so not his song but, on this week's Classic Canadian Monday, TRP got to have a talk with Canadian Music Legend Alfie Zappacosta 🇨🇦 … in the late 70’s the Italian-born and Toronto-raised singer had success in a band called Surrender and had one of this country's most underrated hits “Start Again” … Into the ’80s, Surrender would morph into just Zappacosta and the hits kept coming. “When I Fall In Love Again”, “Nothing Can Stand In Your Way” and of course “Overload” from one of the best-selling albums of all time, the ‘Dirty Dancing’ Soundtrack. He was part of Canada’s “Tears Are Not Enough” Ethiopian relief project in 1985, has worked with producers from Bob Rock to David Foster and has kept me hungry for 30-plus years by reminding me to call “439-oh oh oh oh Pizza N—A” … He is one of Canada’s best and can still be seen performing live every year from coast to coast. He is Alfie Zappacosta and he is this week’s Classic Canadian 🇨🇦🎶
