Or is something more necessary? In this video, we will understand, in the tradition of S.N. Goenka, that Samprajna is the knowledge that made Buddha a Buddha. This is a festival that is essential for every seeker—whether you begin with breathing, walking, or contemplating the impurities of the body. The video explains in detail: • Iriyapatha Parva: How to develop awareness in the four postures (sitting, standing, lying down, and walking) and how this practice leads to awareness. • Samprajna Parva: What is the difference between awareness (sati) and awareness? Simply knowing the movements is not enough, because even a circus performer or dancer is aware but not liberated. Wisdom awakens when there is an awareness of impermanence at the level of experience. • The arising and subsiding of sensations: The key to liberation is to directly experience the production (arising) and destruction (destruction) of sensations in the body. In the words of Goenka, "Look, there is production, there is subsidence." • Two criteria for awareness: (1) Perception of the arising and subsiding of sensations, and (2) Continuity in this task. • Samprajna while sleeping and waking: How a practitioner spends the night half asleep and half awake, and remains aware of sensations even in dreams. • Analogies of awareness: Travelers coming and going to a dharamshala and winds blowing in the sky—sufferings also come and go, they do not last. • Vedaguru, Pandit, and Arhat: A practitioner who is aware of the arising and subsiding of sensations twenty-four hours a day, becomes a source-bearer, a sakṛdāgāmī, and anāgāmī, ultimately becoming an arahant (anasrava). • From impermanent to eternal: Those who seek to meditate directly on the eternal get lost in imagination. Satipatthana leads us to the eternal (nirvana) through the experience of the impermanent. • Introduction to the final stages: Viparita Manasikara (contemplation of the 32 impurities of the body), Dhatumana Manasikara (experience of earth, water, fire, and air), and Navasivathika (cremation ground vision)—these are the preliminary steps that prepare the practitioner for Samaprajna.
