The incident involved joint personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the Indonesian National Police (Polri) and a pro-Papuan independence group known as the Free Papua Movement (OPM) or KKB. In the incident, a TNI soldier reportedly suffered a gunshot wound to the left leg. However, authorities managed to secure hundreds of rounds of ammunition and tens of millions of rupiah in cash from the scene.
